CONTEXT

Tourism is one of the worlds fastest growing industries.  As Tourism has a major influence on both our economy and development, young people benefit from having an overall  awareness of the nature and complexity of the Tourism Industry.  Most people, whether they plan to persure a career in tourism or not will be tourists themselves, and will so shape and influence  the global environment  while engaging in various tourism activities.

The Tourism Awareness Programme aims to make a substantial  contribution to tourism education by providing a foundation for 3rd level tourism related courses.  At the same time if will equip students following other career paths with a broad appreciation  and awareness of this important industry. It is an opportunity for students to acquire knowledge and skills relevant for not only the tourism industry but for a variety of situations in life.
