New Spa Management Degree

A new Spa Management degree has been created, following research carried out by Athlone Institute of Technology.  The degree will mix together practical and theoretical skills and give the student a well rounded education in spa management.

It is estimated that there are over 180 spas in Ireland alone and many more throughout Europe and this is an area of growth within the tourism sector.

Students will learn beauty and spa therapy but also managerial and communicational skills, which will transfer to every area of the tourism industry.  There is natural progression from the new degree to work as spa attendants, deputy spa managers and managers.  Alternatively students will be able to continue with their education into other areas of tourism.

For more information go to www.ait.ie and look up AL017: Bachelor of Arts in Spa Management. You can apply for this course through the CAO.
